Number 9: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour

Well, apparently telling the truth doesn’t come naturally to Christians either. It has to be spelled out in the 9th commandment.

Exodus 20:15: “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.”

We can’t just tell whatever wild story pops into our heads to make ourselves look better or ruin someone’s reputation? What a shocker!

Don’t exaggerate (the fish was “THIS BIG”), don’t lie, don’t be a bullshitter.

Someone tell the politicians!

Honesty and integrity are important in keeping society from devolving into complete chaos. Who’d have thunk it?

This commandment also forbids bribery and forgery. So I assume that includes paying porn stars hush money when you got caught playing hide the sausage with your tiny, mushroom-shaped penis (what was that other commandment, the one that mentions adultery?)

Anyway, in Revelation 22:15, we are told that “whoever loves and practices a lie” will be outside the gates of the New Jerusalem, and in Revelation 21:27 “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

Don’t be a lying cunt.
